BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Chris Benner is the Founding Faculty Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Transformation and the Professor of Sociology at the University of California Santa Cruz. His research focuses on how technological change shapes economic opportunity, with an emphasis on equity and mobility.

Chris has authored or co-authored over 100 academic publications and eight books. His most recent work, Charging Forward, explores electric vehicles, Lithium Valley, and the path to a just energy future.
